Fear.

β€œIt turns out the history of fear is actually the history of hope.”- Robert Peckham.

What is that I fear? Maybe one of the most profound questions that we can ask of ourselves. Fear being an underlying undercurrent in our lives, perhaps motivating us more than what we love. More than what we realise. In turning to cast a light upon our fears, to name them, we reveal what lies hidden in our depths.

Fear can be a powerful emotion, it can be what galvanises us into action, to act upon and bring to fruition what we feel passionate about. However fear is also nuanced, it can keep us stuck and small. The challenge is to somehow not allow fear to engulf us, but to allow it to walk along side and within us, the feeling that asks of us to be safe. To embrace rather than to overcome a force that perhaps in essence orientates us towards love. In this context it maybe apt to contemplate whether love can really exist with out an element of fear. Are love and fear really separable?
