MOTHERING AND CAREGIVING.
Honouring Transitions.
The trajectory into mothering and caring begins long before we have concieved a child and ends long after their arrival. Its an experience marked by transitions. The transition into preconception, to conception, through pregnancy and beyond birth. Each a small yet signigicant step on the path to growth and through life. Each transition can be accompanied by an internal change and at times external changes in behaviour, thought or feeling for a person transitioning through the cycles of mothering and caring. As our bodies and minds adapt to the creation and raising of our children. Our children, both born and unborn shape our health and ours theirs in reciprocity. Carers and their infants are a constellation.
Caring requires a constant learning, unlearning and readaption. It is cyclical. A continual tension and keidelopcope of feeling. In it we are confronted with our past, as well as our future as we form a wobbly new path in the present. It is a becoming.
