HEALTH AND WELLBEING.
Identity.
“I live a hundred, a hundred life times in a day”, sang Ben Harper in his song Amen Omen and for many of us this resonates. Throughout each day we live through multiple identities, as friends, siblings, parents or carers and in our professional roles. We can attribute so much weight to the identities we carry, they can come to define us, represent the accomplishments and achievements of our lived stories. However our identities evolve and change throughout time. No one is fixed. Losing an identity can feel humbling and painful and gaining a new one, awkward. The body is the common thread weaving our transient self constructs together, and when attuned to can give us the feeling of the person behind the mask-the social or personal identities we wear. The body sees beyond labels and identities. In its silence and softness it holds the answers to the biggest questions we face, who am I?
